PEX plumbing installation refers to installation of the PEX plumbing systems in your house. PEX plumbing systems are easy to install and everyone can do it. You just need to have some basic DIY skill to perform the Pex plumbing installation. In order to perform the Pex plumbing installation, you need to know how to handle the drills, and pliers.
The first step in PEX plumbing installation is to position the bit on the stud to drill it. You should not drill too fast. The drilling speed should progress from slow to fast. The sill plate and sub floor of the water lines are to be drilled. The hole that you drilled must have a similar level with the pipes on the ground.
After you have drilled the holes, you must insert the water lines through them. Before inserting the pipes into the studs, make sure you have already drill holes in the middle. In this way, the sharp points of the nails cannot touch the pipes and cause damages to them. The nail plate can be used to cover up the nails. By using the nail plate, the nails will not penetrate into the steel and cause holes in the pipe.
Next, the pipe lines should be pulled up from the hole on the sub floor. After you have pulled up the pipe line, you must connect it to the other end of the area. Next, you must fasten the pipe line on the joists. The clamps can be used to fasten the pipe line. The hot and cold pipe lines should have a distance between each other to prevent the heat from transferring.
After that, you must create a rough stub outs for your sink. The rough stub out is a small copper that is fixed to the sink so that it can be used with the Pex plumbing system. The end of the copper fitting contains a cap, known as rough fitting. The rough fitting is used to check if there is any water leakage. After you have installed the wall, the cap can be cut off. Once the cap is cut off, you can carry out installation of the finished valves. The right angle drill is used to rough in the lines.
To protect the pipe from leakage, you must apply crimps. Before applying crimp, you can cut the plumbing line. It can be difficult to slide the crimp up through the pipe. To slide the crimp ring, you can use a slip joint plier to hold the crimp and slowly push it through the pipe. The crimp should be position a short distance from the pipe end. Typically, the position of the crimp should be 0.125” and 0.25” from the end of the pipe. The crimp should not be further than 0.25” or nearer than 0.0125 from the pipe end.
You must secure the lines to the mixing valve by using PEX 90. It is advised that you remove the mixing valve before beginning the soldering process. You just need basic soldering techniques for preparing the valves. After you have prepared the valves, you must place the fittings in the downward position and solder them. Finally, you can connect the water lines together. Before attaching the ball valves, you have to align template on the manifold. After that, you must mark the hole for each nail and drill the holes through them. When the ball valves are installed, you must pull the PEX plumbing lines from the crawl space.
